It was used during the later stages of WWII by US Military service members in case of gas attack. By in large, use of the bag was resorted to ditching of the gas mask by GIs to make room to carry war booty or other "captured" items such as civilian food, trading goods, supplies, ammunition, etc. We replicated our bags authentically in two shades, one being OD#3 and a
