This piece advertises Jelly Electrolyte, or "J E" storage batteries. The "jelly" eliminated the need for refilling water (a task required with early batteries) and was more dependable in cold weather months as the material didn't freeze. The "jelly" also prevented sulfation, which is a condition that occurs when lead sulfate crystals build up on battery
