This cottage started as a public house but was eventually home of English Lake Poet William Wordsworth and after that, it was gifted to his friend and fellow writer Thomas de Quincey. Today the building is owned by the Wordsworth Trust and is open to visitors. The Literary Association of the English Lakes or the English Lake Poets
