This a very nice example of an early 20th century West Point cadet's parade shako with the original plume (often missing or replaced). The front brass badge has a folded banner across the top around a Federal Eagle, which reads: DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY, WEST POINT, MDCCCII, USMA. The roman numeral date stands for 1802, the year the Academy commenced operations on July 4th. Leather liner reads THE CADET STORE WEST POINT
