The King Edward's Horse Regiment was raised as a Colonial Yeomanry Regiment in 1901. After King Edward VII's death in 1910 it was absorbed by the Regular Army as the King Edward's Horse (The King's Overseas Dominions Regiment). It was raised to accommodate wealthy Colonial businessmen from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, who were for business reasons living in London. These men were all wealthy and the
