each measuring six inches tall by 1 3/8" in diameter

which I believe are German (the torn bottom left corner of the box I would guess says Hamburg)

Hand-written on the lid of the box (note the corner joints) is "Game Counters" followed by a name and address that it is a bit hard to read

and think it would be great filled with anything from a narcissus to an orchid to something leafy green

Amazing patina to the pine wood, with a great warm presence that one feels accrued as it was passed along from one generation to the next to the next. 5 1 2" l x 7 8" wide and deep. It shows plenty of age and wear but is in very good condition, with no splits or cracks or other issues.
