We think this revolver was ordered by a British Officer departing for South Africa in 1876/77/78 who almost certainly saw service in the ZULU WAR of 1879

when the island was declared secure

it stands just 15" tall when barrel is horizontal and 18" tall with barrel fully elevated

while the butt plate is iron
