No chips or cracks that I can see

The bulbous form shows loss around the edges of the base

which is very smooth

Especially on the face of this quite young man. Maybe a fake mustache, I don't know, I think it is excellent whatever the case. Potter's Patent March 7, 1865 embossed on the sleeve, which refers to the die cut paper frame, patented by Ray W. Potter of New York. As mounted: 3 3 4" x 2 5 16". Tintype 1 1 4" x 3 4". Excellent condition.
