DOW's Crude but Excellent Modular Red Painted Chair Hiram Campbell Merrill drawing early 20th century I wouldA little wonky (one leg wiggles a bit and looks to have been re nailed once or twice) but such an excellent form and really a sweet mix of modernist and folky. On the backside is painted DOW not sure if a first name, last, or monogram, but one has to imagine it was once Dow's chair! C. 1940s 50s I believe with nice aging to the (slightly messy) paint job and great combo of bright red and pale yellow. 7 1 16" t x 3 7 8" w x 4 1 8" d and in pretty good
