Original U.S. Civil War M1840 Light Artillery Officer Saber with Scabbard - Dated 1862 Category_Fusee Spring & Cover At 1000 hours on 3Original Item: One Only. This is a really nice untouched example straight out of the family home where it was displayed for almost 150 years. The blade is dated 1862 very faintly on the ricasso below U. S. and an illegible makers mark. The sword has a 32" curved blade, and measures 37 1 2" overall. Brass "D" guard enclosing brass wire bound leather hand grip. Complete with curved all steel nickel plated scabbard with two hanging rings. Scabbard is in
