Sometimes manes need to be shortened and tails need to be trimmed, and regular scissors leave horse hair looking chopped and butchered. Thinning scissors are designed to cut only a fraction of the hairs caught between its blades. A cut is achieved by scissoring several times at slightly different angles and lengths in order to create a short mane that looks absolutely natural.
