This is a 'Queen' Pineapple (Ananas comosus) pup

smaller growing Heliconia with dark green foliage which produces red and white flower bracts during the winter months (northern hemisphere 'Christmas') and is a great under-story plant or pot plant

large almond-shaped leaves grow on long vines which will eventually put out heavily scented clusters of  star shaped white flowers that may produce excess nectar that drips from the flowers
