fine decoration is hand engraved on the surface

clearly posed and poised to delight

hand-built and painted with dark brown slip

to cheer my lot / A vow which raised sweet pleasure's glow / And seal'd my bliss - "forget me not"

Wonderful Antique Portrait of Woman in Green on Tin Oregon estates as there is a fairI have no information about the subject of this painting, but I think it's a wonderful portrait, and personally I like the craquelure and paint loss revealing the mirror like surface of the shiny tin underneath, making it feel at the more atmospheric. Between her dress and her hair I think mid 19th c., and it seems the black neck ribbon and pink bow with brooch may be signifiers identifiers of some sort, but I'm not entirely certain what they tell us
