The Elliot carbine saw service throughout the American War of Independence and was still in service by the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 by which time various other carbine styles had also been adopted

It was established on 1 May 1957 and disestablished on 17 January 1968

The canteen is complete with its original cork stopper secured to the neck of the canteen by a brass ring and chain. The cork itself is complete but has shrunk due to
