Painted Cardboard Candy Container Man, Presumed c. 1920s German silver-plate In broken airThough he's lost a fair amount of paint over the past 100 years or so, I really love little thing, which is an old cardboard candy container. I've learned that these were quite a thing, some made of papier mache and some of hard pressed cardboard, which I believe this is, stapled along seams on the sides and top. At the bottom is a wooden stopper, which I don't think is original, but which works just fine for the purposes of plugging the bottom and
