This is a fantastic piece of World War One Trench Art! This is a lovely brass scaled down American WWI peaked cap, made from a 75mm shell, dated 1918. It is maker marked on the bottom with MAM. It has the front "brim" flared out, and the front has a brass uniform button affixed to it. It has a lovely light aged patina and is very attractive. We surmise that it was used as an ashtray.
