carved of pine I believe with a nice dry wood patina

the hands (and especially the curling fingers of the woman at left

and the handle on the lid of the box appears a bit tilted

Strangely satisfying, and very all American. 5 5 8" w x 3 5 8" d x 3" t, very solid, with some nice age to it, a bit more rusty on one side than the other.
