and recently I decided I wanted to tackle painting this image

This painting won Fourth Prize in the "Simply Watercolor" open juried show at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society

I emphasized its kinetic energy and power by ramping up the colors and the twisting form

as pictured in the spiny structure and the flowers

Nightflyers - Surreal Landscape Painting graveyard Currently on exhibitThis town is dark beneath a crescent moon, but dark doesn't mean no one is up and about. Every type of night flyer is awake and sailing in the currents or air and energy owls, nightjars, moths, bats, spirits, and witches. They each go about their own business in the night sky. The original mixed media surreal landscape painting is 16 x 20" on heavy cotton watercolor paper and should be framed behind glass or acrylic.
