It has a four bar nickel plated hand guard, black plastic finger grooved grip, slim slightly curved fully etched and nickel plated blade. The etched design has typical United States Military emblems, including the Federal Eagle, crossed cannons, flags, and so forth. There is no maker mark. The sword is engraved: JOHN J. TOWNSEND
