This is a very rare and sought after "Screw Back" version of the 1939 Eisernes Kreuz (Iron Cross) 1st Class. This is an excellent example with a Magnetic core, vaulted design, and rare screw back attachment. It is maker marked with LDO number L 56 on the underside of the screw back, which represents Funcke & Brninghaus of Ldenscheid. The LDO, (Leistungs Gemeinschaft der Deutscher Ordenshersteller Administration of
