This note has two trace rust stains on the reverse upper margin. The Chicago district printed 573,600 notes for the 1928 Series $500. The 1928 continues to be the most popular of the small size $500 due, of course, to the gold clause which reads: "REDEEMABLE IN GOLD ON DEMAND AT THE UNITED STATES TREASURY OR IN GOLD OR LAWFUL MONEY AT ANY FEDERAL RESERVE BANK" This note is currently
