This is an exceptionally rare excellent complete example of a model 1912 experimental entrenching shovel with a removable shovel head on the 1912 picket pin farrier hammer. This rare entrenching tool also comes with a very nice R. I. A. 1909 marked M1905 shovel cover. The securing strap is also marked R. I. A. 1909, a great detail showing that this is a matching set, but the strap is a bit stiff. All components of
