This is a quality item and so typically English. An Officer's Cane or Swagger stick measuring 34" in overall length. It is made of high quality wood, which has been beautifully carved in spirals with a marvelous DOG'S HEAD handle. It looks to be a Grey Hound, with amber glass eyes and an alert expression. Around its neck is an engraved Silver band stating: Capt. W. J. Bell R. E. 1917 Other than his rank, name, and branch
