This is a very nice German WWII SA "Stormtrooper" Kepi (Dienstmtze), often called a "Coffee Can Hat." It is made of "whipcord weave" light service cloth type canvas, with a navy blue felt top and silver "pip" button on the front. This indicates use by the SA Gruppe Hessen (Hesse), which was formed from the province of Hesse Nassau and parts of the People's State (former Grand Duchy) of Hesse. The principal city in
