Original U.S. Civil War Model 1861 Leather Cartridge Box with Inner Tins - Marked Newark N.J. German Documents & Books Year of Manufacture: Circa 1810-20Original Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine Pattern 1861 pattern Federal issue leather cartridge box for . 58 caliber. Outer flap has light surface wear with a latch tab that is attached by straight line stitching and a brass rivet. The tab hole is a bit worn, but still intact without tears, and fits nicely around the large brass stud on the bottom of the box. The rear of the box still has both belt loops intact, as well as the loops for the
