I can't figure out anything this could be other than a branding iron

and I must say the vertically oriented composition with strategically arranged hanging fruits makes me wonder whether this wasn't meant as a nod to a nude torso of a woman

In addition to its delicacy, for me it is the boy's slightly upward and sideward gaze that really makes the drawing, lending just a bit of mischievousness to his very pretty face. Very lovely.
