This is a very nice, apparently un installed example of a USAAF Type X 1 Reflex sight, which is approximately 10 inches wide 9 inches tall. The device is a horizontally aligned reflector sight, calibrated to match the viewing angle of the internal refracting optical sight, which was installed on the M 9B sight head of the late war variants of the legendary Norden bombsight.
