Fabulous Vintage Fake Cake framed art from a larger set of

from a larger set of plane drawings by one boy with an airplane obsession

There is a fair amount of wear to the finish on handle end of the frame and one red bead with a chip on one side

A couple of small stains at top right which look like watercolor or ink smears perhaps original to the paper on which it was done

and is to my eye a pretty perfect vessel--earthy and also really elegant

Fabulous Vintage Fake Cake framed art from a larger set ofIt had never occurred to me to search for fake baked goods, but since finding this cake I'm rather inclined to start hunting for them, visualizing a whole collection arranged across a few shelves, sort of midway between Wayne Thibaud and Claes Oldenberg! I believe these in general, and I assume this one specifically, were made to actually display in bakery windows, and I would assume custom made to match an actual offering, though I am not entirely
