There is a reference in David Harding's wonderful book "SMALL ARMS OF THE EAST INDIA COMPANY 1600-1856" Volume 2 page 572 referring to musket supply from Manton as early as 1837

The blade is substantial and the base of the spine bears the marking DAWES  who was a very respected London based sword smith

The metal alloy eye socket frames on this later issue version are of the cheaper grey Ferrous metal

M1917 "Doughboy" helmet, which features original period textured OD Green paint and a painted Unit Insignia. The shell is maker marked with a stamping on the underside of the rim that reads ZA. The solid rivets and heat lot number indicate that this helmet shell was produced in the United States. The paint is in very good condition both inside and outside the helmet. The liner
