tiny but terrific

and with great black painted details on the smaller

but love the composition of large leaves at top offset by the snaking roots at the other

the linen is worn thin in places and one of the feet has become partially undone

Later 19th c. I believe, and large enough to occupy me at least for quite a while! The blocks fit together in two layers in their custom handmade box, perhaps missing one small block but no more than that. I'm really not sure why children should need much more to occupy them
