This is a classic German WWI Artillery Officer's sword. The nickeled brass alloy hilt consists of a blucher type design. The blade, although tired, still exhibits a full etched blade. The scabbard Is made of nickel plated steel. Since Officers in the Imperial German Army still carried their swords into the field during WWI, it is not completely uncommon to see these swords with a great deal of use. The rain chappe is
