These examples were most likely acquired by servicemen in the Philippines and brought home after WWII like so many were. The Igorot head ax is a weapon that is unique to the Philippine archipelago and was produced in many different shapes. The ax head is distinguished by its wide curved edge, pointed ends and a stub protruding
