There are some pieces of tabletop furniture that want to be part of groupings and some that are stand alone objects, and this very iconic feeling ladder back chair I think is an example of the latter, the sort that would hold its own on a sparsely populated stretch of clean white shelf. Nice old green paint, original woven rush seat, a handsome thing. Second photo shows it next to a Schoenhut circus chair for scale. C. 1900 or so I would think.
