Civil War Era "Shackle Bolts" Crate blocks set I've seen these old carvedFound on what felt like a very dark week in the life of this country, this mid 19th century American "shackle bolts" box crate struck me as particularly resonant. (Dark times lead to dark readings). Found in New Hampshire, it looks to have once functioned as a drawer, with pull removed from one end leaving what looks like a frowning face behind. Held together with rectangular iron nails, thick black painted lettering over stained exterior. 16 3 4" x 6
