making me imagine a toll booth with a 25 cent passage fee
and among the first iterations of the jig saw puzzle
and embroidery is well secured to it with no losses that I can see

This carving though--carved from the vertebrae of what type of animal I am not sure--does not seem an easy fit for either category
Anxious Girl in Stripes with Pigeons in Atlantic City, Wonderful (and highly relatable) 1948 Photo root wood making me imagine a tollThis girl after my own heart, somewhat awkward and also slightly traumatized, while still also eager and hopeful that this pigeon should take a nibble from her hand. I love her, and her stripes, and whole scene, more pigeons gathering around at her feet. Could get out of control! On the back: Atlantic City, 1948. 4 5 8" x 3 11 16". Photo, matte paper.
