and his head looks a bit like a pumpkin

but this one really struck me--in part for the quality and clarity of the tintype itself

but I thought this was such a beautiful (and beautifully preserved) piece of cast iron

I think it is a very sweet and lovely thing

Happily the face of the young mother directly behind the baby is revealed in profile just to the left of the baby's head (look closely), lending a sense of playfulness to an otherwise somewhat eerie feeling image. And then another figure lingering in the shadows
