Here we have a very nice original Eagle Headed U. S. Militia Officer's sword from the 1830s. The gilt of the hand guard is heavily worn. The hilt has a very nice "closed mouth" Eagle head pommel. The grip is lovely ribbed bone ivory, evident of an officers sword. The eagle's head is very well executed, with a lovely antiqued brass patina. The blade has fantastic markings and retains the gold inlay very well. The
