Face Vessel, Presumed Ohio Sewer Tile / End of Day Pottery, Early-ish 20th c. plaques though it is pretty greatThis face vessel is a piece of folk art sewer tile pottery, made by workers at the tile & pipe factories (especially in Ohio) during the late 19th to earlyish 20th centuries. To my eye it's an especially sensitive and soulful feeling example a self portrait I'd like to imagine. I especially love the color variation on the drippy glazing, making it seem as if our man has tears streaming down his face, especially on his left side, amplifying the
