This is a very interesting piece of equipment, a map reading leg board which is missing the ruler pieces that complete it. Of interest however is the name carved into the back, Lt. H. P. Torrey USMC, for Henry Pierce Torrey, who was first appointed a 2nd Lieutenant on February 16th, 1913 with the advice and consent of the Senate. Over the next 5 years he would hold multiple positions, serving in Haiti, China, the
