Abstracted Figure(s), Modernist Mid Century Carved Sculpture antique chalkboard but this bowl does haveThis carving, which I purchased from a mostly mid century dealer with a really nice eye, just struck me with every turn it seems just about to resolve into something, like a pair of embracing figures, or a figure carrying a child, but it never quite does and so feels perpetually elusive and dynamic. From a few angles it also really appears as if there are the features of a face, or two, trapped just below the surface, waiting to emerge! 9 1 2 t x 3 3
