Research reveals that serial number 2184 dates to year of manufacture of 1894

It is coded along with multiple German wartime markings and has multiple waffen amts and a clear serial number 1085 on the barrel jacket and 6546 on the top cover and making this is a fine example of the most prolific German issued Light Machine gun of WW2

This is a lovely 26" x 44" section of a muslin canvas banner, which apparently was originally 30 feet long, and probably displayed outside for events. They were not able to take back the whole banner, but easily recognized the word "Fhrer", used to refer to the leader of NSDAP Germany, Adolf H. The banner section has natured to a lovely beige color, and still show a clear printed Fhrer in German "Blackletter" typeface.
