This is quite unusual, and a great find. Outwardly this looks pretty much a standard Imperial Russian Cossack Saber, known as a "Shashka", complete with its leather covered wood scabbard with brass mounts. However, on removing the scabbard, the blade is revealed, and it is remarkable. The blade has very substantial stamped Maker's marking in cyrillic on the left side and has three fullers of various sizes running
