with the chape fitting now able to be moved back and forth on the bottom

Just recently acquired in the state of New York

At the First Battle of Bull Run

This indicates that this weapon was not intended for a British Military contract but was aimed at the overseas market

There are several John Castros in the Army Transportation logs, but we couldnt find one with this exact bar combination, making for a great research project.
