The ones with the red markings (Roman numerals I denoting their point values) are a bit heavier in weight and somewhat easier to pick up

which I believe dates to sometime between 1900-1920s

OH Witman's Folk Art Lady Legs 4 3/8 Inch Caliper vase with bird but as framed it doesI've been keeping a bit of an eye out for old lady legs calipers, of which there are a wonderful variety out there, and was delighted to find these, stamped with the name of their proud owner down one leg. I love to imagine the delight OH Whitman must have taken in using these (and what a perfect name), and that he will continue to be imagined whenever one uses, or simply looks at them, yet. Late 19th century or so I would guess. 4 3 8" tall. 1 11 16"
