the buttstock is stamped in the wood with a roundel marked:

took place at the beginning of the Bougainville campaign in World War II

and has never been reduced in size for fitting to a jacket

however the line chin strap is missing

that has not been touched since WW2 and has totally original wartime parts

We aren't 100% sure exactly what this kepi is, but it is nicely marked with a Swiss Military Uniform maker logo located in Bern Zurich. We believe it dates from the turn of the 20th century to WWI. The red piping is indicative of artillery. Feature wool body, leather sweatband and leather visor with red lined interior. Size is approximately 58cm (US 7 1 4).
