Dress helmet with white horsehair plume which represented mounted cavalry. It is a black felt dress helmet, with patent leather edging and hat band. The gold plated, brass helmet plate, consists of the U. S. Eagle and Shield insignia. The eagle has arrows (broken) in left talon and olive branch in right talon.
