Perhaps my favorite thing about this little painting is the young boy's reflection in the mirror of his bureau

and some roughness to the interior lip (not visible when closed)

and by the end of the 19th century the magic lantern was overtaken by the cinematograph

with very fine details and the pin nicely soldered to the back

There is not a whole lot out there about her, but I do know she was a graduate of Tufts University and spent much of her life in the nearby Boston suburb of Belmont, where there are records of her exhibiting from the 1960s and 70s all the way through
