with the incised decoration and applied beaded frieze near the base typical of the lacquerwork of the Shan people (also known as the Dai or Tai Yai)

She also looks to me like she's holding a juicy secret

but do know that "Blood Indians" refers to the Kainai

Hand-painted Puffin Letter Opener, Presumed Grenfell Mission stereograph cards all of which pack upI've had a couple of old Grenfell Mission (Labrador) wooden letter openers hand painted with figures in parka driving dogs sleds, and have seen a few other varieties as well, and this puffin is so similar in manner I am nearly certain it is Grenfell Mission as well. What a charmer of a puffin, and what a charmer of a letter opener, to keep on one's desk, or perhaps to stick like a post into a bowl full of pretty rocks and pebbles. C. 1920s 30s I
