This is a very good example of a genuine British manufactured Portuguese M1916 helmet, manufactured under contract during the WWI Period. The design was popular worldwide, and the British exported the design to many countries. This example does have the original British shell stamps visible on the rim, though we can only make out part of them, so we cannot tell which exact manufacturer made it. It is the earlier
