This wonderful "Bill" style polearm was originally kept in the regimental Military Museum commemorating the BATTLE OF THE BOYNE in 1690, when King William III defeated the former King James II ending the Stuart Monarchy in Britain. It was then looted by Irish rebels during the Easter Rebellion in Ireland, which took place in 1916. Heavily put down by British forces, it has become another very black moment in both Irish
